प्राचीन काल से ही मनुष्य पारद द्वारा स्वर्ण निर्माण की प्रक्रिया को समझने में लगा हुआ है | हमारे आचार्य गुरुकुलों में यह प्रक्रिया सिखाते थे पर धीरे धीरे समयांतर में यह विज्ञान विलुप्त हो गया | आज भी लोग बिना गुरु की शरण में गए आसान तरीके से स्वर्ण निर्माण की प्रक्रियाओं को खोजते रहते हैं और अपना धन और समय व्यर्थ करते रहते हैं | समझने का विषय यह है कि आखिर ऐसी कौन सी प्रक्रियाएँ थी जिनके द्वारा पुरातन आचार्य स्वर्ण निर्माण किया करते थे | पारद संस्कार जोकि एक जटिल प्रक्रिया है को गुरु के सानिध्य में रह कर सीखा जा सकता है, इस विद्या के मर्म को समझा जा सकता है | बिना संस्कारों के पारद द्वारा स्वर्ण की उत्पत्ति एक मृग तृष्णा के ही समान है जो दिखाई तो देती है पर पकड़ में नहीं आती है |
पारद एक दूषित और विषेला पदार्थ माना जाता है | शास्त्रों के अनुसार पारद में आठ प्रकार के दोष पाए जाते हैं जिन्हें आठ केंचुलियाँ भी कहा गया है | जब तक इन आठ प्रकार के दोषों का निराकरण नहीं होता तब तक पारद रस रसायन और स्वर्ण निर्माण की क्रियाओं के योग्य नहीं होता है | सर्वप्रथम पारद के खनीज पदार्थ जिसे हिंगुल, शिंगरफ के नाम से जाना जाता है से पारद को निकालना, फिर इस पारद को आठ संस्कारों के द्वारा पूर्णतया शुद्ध करना और बुभुक्षित करना जिससे पारद में हजारों बिजलियों के समान चमक आ जाये और पारद सभी प्रकार के बीजों को अपने अंदर धारण करने योग्य हो जाये क्योंकि जब तक पारद इस अवस्था तक नहीं पहुँच जाता तब तक आगे की प्रक्रियाओं को करना नामुमकिन होता है | पारद को सिद्ध रस बनाने के लिए उसमे अभ्रक सत्व का ग्रास दिया जाता है जिससे पारद अग्नि स्थाई अवस्था को प्राप्त करता है और उसका तेज इतना बढ़ जाता है कि जैसे साक्षात शिव के ही दर्शन हो रहे हों | यही पारद आगे चलकर स्वर्ण का ग्रास भी लेता है और पूर्ण रूप से सिद्ध होने पर चमत्कारिक औषधियों को बनाने के काम आता है जोकि देह सिद्ध करने वाली होती हैं | यही सिद्ध रस ताम्र और नाग जैसी कुप्य धातुओं का परिवर्तन कर उन्हें स्वर्ण में परिवर्तित कर देता है पर यह सारी प्रक्रियाएँ इतनी सरल नहीं जितना सोचा जाता है | पूर्ण गुरु के सानिध्य में ही यह संभव हो पाता है | इसमें कठोर श्रम की और धन की आवश्यकता होती है |
एक बहुत पुरानी लोकोक्ति है –
"तोरस गंधक मोरस पारा जिसमे दीजे नाग सिंचारा
नाग मार नागिन को दीजे खप्पर भर सोना कर लीजे "
अब इस लोकोक्ति में क्रिया को स्पष्ट समझाया गया है | लाखों कीमियागरों ने इस पर काम किया पर असफल रहे क्योंकि वो इस लोकोक्ति का मर्म ही नहीं समझ पाए | यहाँ हमें सिद्ध पारद की आवश्यकता है जो अग्निस्थाई और स्वर्ण जारित हो, गंधक शुद्ध और स्थाई हो, नाग यानी सीसा शुद्ध संस्कारित और भस्म रूप में हो, नागिन यानी चाँदी पूर्ण शुद्ध रूप में हो और पूर्ण गुरु का साथ हो तब जाकर ये लोकोक्ति सिद्ध हो सकती है और हमारा मंतव्य पूर्ण हो सकता है | अधिकाँश कीमियागर या रस शास्त्री इन प्रक्रियाओं को पूर्ण किये बगैर ही सफलता की उम्मीद में अपना धन समय व्यर्थ ही खो देते हैं |
एक कहावत है-
"यह विद्या ऐसी जैसे लम्बी खजूर चढ़े तो पाए प्रेम फल जो गिरे सो चकनाचूर"
इस राह में सही मार्गदर्शन के अभाव में कई चकनाचूर हुए, कई चकनाचूर होने की तैयारी में हैं |
आज के वक़्त सम्पूर्ण भारत वर्ष या कहें तो सम्पूर्ण दुनिया में लोग अलग अलग तरीकों से इस विद्या की खोज में लगे हुए हैं जिंनकी संख्या लाखों में है | ये सालों बर्बाद कर देते हैं, लाखों रुपया खर्च कर देते हैं पर रिजल्ट जीरो ही रहता है क्योंकि ये सब एक निश्चित पद्धिति पर काम करना पसंद नहीं करते और भटकते रहते हैं और असफलता में घिरे रहते हैं | जब तक हम पारद को समझेंगे नहीं, उसके रहस्य को जानेंगे नहीं, हमे कामयाबी कैसे प्राप्त होगी |
इसीलिए हमे चाहिए की हम समर्थ गुरु के सानिध्य में रह कर इस विषय को समझें, इस पर प्रैक्टिकल करें | अपनी इस प्राचीन विद्या के पुनर्जागरण के लिए शोध कार्य करें और निश्चित सफलता की प्राप्ति करें |
सभी रस ग्रंथों ने पारद संस्कारों के महत्व को समान रूप से स्वीकारा है | यह रास्ता लम्बा जरूर है पर इसमें सफलता निश्चित समय में अवश्य प्राप्त होती है |
Since ancient times, humans have been trying to understand the process of producing gold through mercury (Parad). Our Acharyas once taught this process within the Gurukuls, but gradually, over time, this science disappeared. Even today, people keep searching for easy methods of gold production without taking refuge under a Guru, wasting their money and time in the process. The matter worth understanding is: what exactly were the processes through which the ancient Acharyas used to produce gold? Mercury sacraments (Parad Sanskar), which form a complex process, can be learned only while staying in the presence of a Guru, and the essence of this knowledge can be understood only that way. Producing gold from mercury without these sacraments is like a mirage — visible, yet impossible to grasp.
Mercury is considered an impure and poisonous substance. According to the scriptures, mercury contains eight kinds of impurities (dosha), also called the eight "sheaths" (kenchuli). Until these eight impurities are removed, mercury is not fit for use in alchemical work (rasa rasayan) or gold production. First, mercury must be extracted from its mineral ore, known as hingul or shingraf, and then this mercury must be fully purified through the eight sacraments and made hungry (bubhukshit), so that it gains a brilliance like a thousand lightning bolts, and becomes capable of absorbing all kinds of seed-substances within itself — because until mercury reaches this state, performing the further processes becomes impossible. To turn mercury into the perfected elixir (siddha rasa), it is fed mica essence (abhrak sattva), through which mercury attains a fire-stable state, and its radiance increases so greatly that it appears as though one is beholding Lord Shiva himself. This very mercury then goes on to absorb gold as well, and once fully perfected, it becomes useful in preparing miraculous medicines capable of perfecting the body itself. This same perfected elixir (siddha rasa) transforms base metals like copper and lead into gold — but all these processes are nowhere near as simple as commonly imagined. This becomes possible only in the presence of a fully accomplished Guru. It requires great labour and considerable expense.
There is a very old folk saying —
"Combine the purified mercury (toras) with sulphur (gandhak) and silver-essence (moras), into which feed the serpent's essence (naag sinchara) — strike down the serpent (naag) and feed it to the female serpent (naagin), and you may fill a skull-bowl with gold."
Now, this saying clearly explains the process involved. Millions of alchemists have worked on this and failed, because they could never grasp the true essence of this saying. Here, we need perfected mercury (siddha parad) that is fire-stable and gold-absorbing; sulphur that is pure and stable; "naag" — that is, lead — that is purified through the sacraments and in the form of bhasma (calcined ash); "naagin" — that is, silver — in its fully purified form; and the companionship of a fully accomplished Guru. Only then can this saying be realized and our intention fulfilled. Most alchemists or Rasa Shastris lose their money and time in vain, hoping for success without completing these processes fully.
There is a saying —
"This knowledge is such that if you climb a tall date-palm, you may attain the fruit of love, but if you fall, you shatter into pieces."
On this path, in the absence of proper guidance, many have shattered, and many more stand on the verge of shattering.
Today, across the whole of India, or indeed the whole world, people by the millions are engaged in searching for this knowledge through various methods. They waste years and spend lakhs of rupees, yet the result remains zero, because they refuse to work according to a fixed method and keep wandering, remaining surrounded by failure. Until we understand mercury, until we learn its secrets, how can we attain success?
This is why we should understand this subject while remaining in the presence of a capable Guru, practise it hands-on, undertake research for the revival of this ancient knowledge, and attain certain success.
All the Rasa scriptures equally accept the importance of mercury's sacraments. This path is certainly a long one, but success along it is certainly attained within a definite time.
