वो इतना परेशान था कि चारों तरफ मुसीबतों के बादल छाए थे ! कर्ज में सिर तक डूब गया, घर में बहन विवाह के योग्य हो गई थी ! लेकिन कोई आमदनी का साधन नहीं था | ग्रेजुएशन करने के बाद भी नौकरी नहीं मिल पा रही थी | कर्ज मांगने वाले रोज परेशान करते थे | कोई रास्ता नहीं मिल रहा था | घर के हालत ने सोमनाथ को इतना तोड़ दिया था कि अब सिवाए आत्महत्या के कोई रास्ता नजर नहीं आ रहा था ! एक दिन तंग आकर वह मरने के इरादे से गाँव के बाहर एक सुनसान कूए की तरफ चला गया ! मन में बहुत ख्याल आ रहे थे पर अब कोई और रास्ता तो नहीं है ! धीरे धीरे कदम भरता हुआ वह जा रहा था ! दिन छुप गया था और कुछ अंधेरा सा हो गया था !
जब वह कुए के पास पहुंचा तो देखता है कि एक बुजुर्ग सफ़ेद वस्त्र पहने उस कुए के पास बनी नाग की बाम्बी के पास बैठा है | उसके समक्ष दीप जल रहा है और वह ध्यान में मंत्र जप किए जा रहा है और वह वहाँ बैठकर उसके उठकर जाने का इंतजार करने लगा, आधा घंटा बीत जाने पर उसने आँखें खोली और माथा टेक कर नाग देवता को प्रणाम किया और सोमनाथ की तरफ देख कर मुस्करा दिया और उसके पास आकर बैठ गया और कहने लगा, मरना किसी मुसीबत का हल नहीं होता, अगर हौसला छोड़ दोगे तो कैसे जीओगे | ऐसे समय तुम परेशान मत हो, मुझे सब पता चल गया है ! तुम्हारी परेशानी क्या है। तुम रोज मेरे पास आ जाया करो, इससे तुम्हारा दिल भी शांत हो जाएगा और मुझे भी साथ मिल जाएगा ! इस तरह सोमनाथ रोज शाम को वहाँ चले जाता और मन का बोझ हल्का कर लेता | उस व्यक्ति ने उसे मंत्र तंत्र का ज्ञान देना शुरू कर दिया और उसे अपने पास बैठा कर साधना कराने लगा | 6 महीने बीत गए और कुछ कुछ सोमनाथ के घर के हालात भी बदलने लगे |
एक दिन अचानक उस बुजुर्ग ने कहा, एक राज मैंने आज तक किसी से नहीं कहा, अगर तुम मुझे वचन दो तो मैं तुम्हे बताता हूँ | सोमनाथ उसे अपना गुरु मानने लगा था इसलिए वचन दे दिया कि आपके जीते जी मैं किसी से ये बात नहीं करूँगा | तब उस बुजुर्ग ने ठंडी सांस ली और कहा बेटा मैं 30 साल से बाबा इच्छाधारी की सेवा कर रहा हूँ और जो इस बाम्बी में नाग के रूप में रहते हैं | इन्होने मेरी सेवा से प्रसन्न होकर मुझे अपनी मणि प्रदान की है ! आज मेरे पास जो भी है सभी इन्हीं का दिया हुया है ! इनकी दी कृपा से ही मैं समय के गर्भ में झांक लेता हूँ ! इसलिए तुम मुझे वचन दो कि मेरे बाद तुम यहां सेवा का कार्य किया करोगे तो सोमनाथ ने हाँ में सिर हिला दिया और फिर आगे उस बुजुर्ग ने कहा कि एक बात ध्यान से सुनो आज से 8 दिन बाद मेरी मृत्यु हो जाएगी | तुम यह मणि लो और जब मुझे शमशान में चिता पे लिटा दें और अग्नि देने वाले हों तो तुम यह मणि मेरे हाथ में किसी तरह पकड़ा देना, इससे मैं दोबारा जिंदा हो जाऊँगा | सोमनाथ नागमणि लेकर अपने घर आ गया और ठीक 8 दिन पूरे होने के बाद वो बुजुर्ग मर गया जोकि उसके गाँव का ही था | जब शमशान में गए तो अंतिम अरदास के वक़्त सोमनाथ ने कहा मैंने इसका मुख देखना है तो चुपके से मुख देखते वक़्त वो मणि उनके हाथ में रख दी और मणि का स्पर्श पाते ही वो बुजुर्ग जिंदा हो गया | सभी अचंभित हो गए और हर्ष के साथ खुशी का इजहार करने लगे | सभी अपने घरों को वापिस आ गए | इसके बाद वो बुजुर्ग 3 साल तक जिंदा रहा |
जब हम सोमनाथ से मिले तो एक सफल ज़िंदगी जी रहा है और आज भी नवांशहर के नजदीक एक गाँव में अपनी ज़िंदगी जी रहा है | अच्छा कारोबार और अच्छा घर राजाओं की तरह ऐश्वर्य से जीवन जी रहा है | जब हमने मणि के बारे में पूछा तो उसने इस बारे कुछ नहीं कहा और कहने लगा इस बारे में न पुछो, लेकिन उसकी ज़िंदगी ही बदल गई और आज भी वो गाँव के बाहर उसी जगह इच्छाधारी साधना सेवा में रहता है और उसे भूत भविष्य के बारे में सटीक जानकारी मिल जाती है | मेरा मानना है कि आज भी उसके पास नागमणि है पर इस दुनिया के लालच भरे समाज में यह बातें छुपा के रखनी ही बेहतर हैं ! क्योंकि सिद्धि मिलने पर जो प्रदर्शन करता है वो सिद्धि ज्यादा देर उसके पास नहीं रहती |
सोमनाथ हमारा दोस्त है | वहीँ एक बार मैंने उस्ताद से इस बात का जिक्र किया तो उन्होंने मुझे इच्छाधारी साधना का रहस्य समझाते हुये इसके गुप्त भेद बताए और उनके निर्देशन में मैंने इसे संपन्न किया, जिसके बहुत ही अच्छे और अद्भुत अनुभव हुए और इस साधना को करते कुछ दिन बाद ही ऐसा फील होने लगता है जैसे आपके चारों और नाग आकर बैठ गए हैं और आपकी रक्षा करते हैं |
मैं रोज इस साधना हेतु अपने गाँव के बाहर बने नाग देवता के स्थान पर जाता था और एक दिन साधना करते ध्यान में इतना खो गया कि मेरा सूक्षम शरीर देह से अलग होकर उस बाम्बी में चला गया और सामने नाग माता और बाबा जी दोनों बैठे थे | उन्होंने आशीर्वाद दिया और मुझे एक तरफ इशारा किया, एक रास्ता सा नीचे को बन गया और उनकी आज्ञा लेकर मैं उस तंग सुरंगनुमा रास्ते में गुस गया और कुछ ही समय के बाद मैं एक महल में था, जहां एक तरफ तख्त लगा था और ऐसा लगा कि मैं एक राज दरबार में आ गया हूँ और सामने तख्त पर नागराज मानस देह में बैठे थे और चारों तरफ उनके दरबारी | मैंने सिर झुकाकर प्रणाम किया और मुझे एक तरफ बैठने का इशारा मिला और मैं बैठ गया | तभी मुझे बताया गया तुम नाग लोक में हो और वहाँ बहुत सी बातें हुई जो यहाँ बताना उचित नहीं पर नागलोक के वैभव की तुलना करना मुश्किल है और इस एक साधना ने मुझे ऐसे रहस्यों से परिचित करवाया जिनके बारे में सोचा भी नहीं जा सकता और मेरा नागलोक से एक संबंध सा बना दिया | यह दुर्लभ साधना है | जो निडर साधक हैं उन्हे ही यह साधना करनी चाहिए क्योंकि इसके अनुभव प्रत्यक्ष होते हैं और साधक बहुत बार नाग देखकर डर जाते हैं | जो इस साधना को करना चाहे मुझसे संपर्क कर सकते हैं |
साधना विधि
इस साधना को करने से पहले कुछ नियम जो अपनाने चाहिए |
१. कभी भी नाग न मारने का संकल्प लें कि मैं कभी भी नागों को कष्ट नहीं दूंगा |
२. गणेश पूजा, गुरु पूजा, शिव पूजा अनिवार्य है |
३. जहाँ तक हो सके सत्य बोलें |
अब सबसे पहले कोई ऐसा स्थान देखें जहाँ इच्छाधारी का मंदिर या कोई बाम्बी हो | हर शहर में कहीं न कहीं यह स्थान होता है या कोई ऐसी नाग की बाम्बी ढूंढें जहाँ पहले पूजा न हुई हो या कोई पक्की बाम्बी मिल जाये तो बहुत ही उत्तम है | पक्की बाम्बी उसे कहते हैं जो बहुत पुरानी हो और लोग वहां दूध आदि डालते हों |
अपने साथ जो सामग्री लेकर जानी है वो यह है कि एक लोटा दूध, फूल सफ़ेद हों तो बेहतर है, फूल आप कली या चमेली के ले सकते हैं या जो भी मिल जाएँ, ले लें और बताशे जरूर लेकर जाने हैं |
वस्त्र सफ़ेद पहने, आसन कोई भी चलेगा लेकिन काला न हो | सबसे पहले बाम्बी के आसपास सफाई करें और आसन बिछाकर सारा सामान रख दें |
गुरु पूजन और गणेश पूजन करें और शिव पूजन कर आज्ञा लें | फिर बाम्बी पर पूजा करें, नाग देवता को स्मरण कर फूल आदि चढ़ा दें और एक धूप की बत्ती लगा दें और बताशे आदि चढ़ा दें, फिर बैठकर मंत्र जाप करें | घी का दीपक लगा दें और ध्यान रहे साधना काल में दीपक जलता रहे | आसन आदि का जाप कर लिया जाये तो बेहतर है या आसन कीलन भी कर सकते हैं |
इस मंत्र का 11 माला जप करें | मंत्र थोड़ा बड़ा है इसमें 3 घंटे लग सकते हैं | अगर 11 माला न कर पाओ तो 5 या 3 माला कर लें | इसे 41 दिन करें और निश्चित जप जितना रोज करते हो, पूरे 41 दिन चलेगा | अंत में खीर का भोग या बताशे साथ जरूर चढ़ाएं | मंत्र जाप पूर्ण होने पर नमश्कार करें और दूध बाम्बी में डाल दें और घर वापिस आ जाएँ | इसे घर पर बिलकुल न करें | नगेंदर |
अनुभव
इसके अनुभव प्रत्यक्ष होते हैं | बहुत नाग दिखेंगे और कई बार आपके आस पास बैठ जायेंगे | डरें नहीं, कोई कुछ नहीं कहेगा | जब जाप पूरा हो जायेगा, अपने आप चले जायेंगे | कई बार इससे नागकन्या आदि भी आ जाती है, इसलिए संयम रखें और कुछ भी न बोलें जब तक आपकी साधना पूरी न हो | अंत में एक बहुत बड़ा सुनहरी रंग का नाग आपके सामने बाम्बी से निकलकर आएगा, डरें नहीं, हौसला रखें | वो कुछ भी करे, अपना मुख खोल के आपको डराने की कोशिश भी करे तो भी अपने स्थान से उठें नहीं और न ही भागें, नहीं तो साधना भंग हो जाएगी और आपके मनन में दहल पड़ जाएगी, देह कांपने लग जाएगी, नाग हर जगह दिखाई देगा और आप अर्ध मूर्छित से हो जाओगे, लोग आपको पागल समझने लगेंगे | इसलिए बहुत ही ध्यान देने और सावधानी बरतने की जरूरत है | जब आपका जप पूर्ण हो जायेगा तो वो नाग संत रूप में प्रकट होकर आपसे बात करेगा और आप अपने लिए उससे कोई भी वरदान मांग सकते हैं |
इतना होने पर आपकी सहायता नागलोक से होने लगेगी और आपका जीवन धन धान्य से भरपूर हो जायेगा | बहुत बार लाटरी आदि का नंबर मिलेगा और सट्टे या शेयर मार्किट की जानकारी मिलेगी | आप इन अवसरों का सदुपयोग कर जीवन को खुशहाल बना सकते हैं | इससे कई प्रकार की सिद्धियाँ मिल जाती हैं जैसे किसी के बारे में कोई भी जानकारी, आपके कान में आवाज आया करेगी और चेहरे का आकर्षण बढ़ जायेगा और विशेषकर आपकी आँखें बदल जाएँगी और आँखों में विशेष चमक आ जाएगी | और भी बहुत सारे रहस्य आपके सामने खुल जायेंगे और अगर आपकी साधना सच्चे भाव से हुई है तो आप नागलोक के दर्शन भी कर लेंगे या वहां जा सकोगे | तो मन के सारे भय निकालकर साधना के लिए अपने आप को तैयार करें और विश्वास के साथ साधना करें |

He was so troubled that clouds of misfortune surrounded him from every side! He had sunk deep into debt, his sister had reached marriageable age, but there was no source of income. Even after graduating, he could not find a job. Those demanding repayment of his debts troubled him every day. No way forward seemed visible. The state of his household had broken Somnath so completely that nothing but suicide seemed to remain as an option. One day, fed up, he walked toward a deserted well outside the village, intending to end his life. Many thoughts crossed his mind, but there seemed no other way. He walked on slowly, step by step. The day had set, and a kind of darkness had begun to fall.
When he reached the well, he saw an elderly man dressed in white, sitting beside a serpent's mound near the well. A lamp burned before him, and he sat in meditation, chanting a mantra. Somnath sat down and waited for him to finish, and after half an hour, the man opened his eyes, bowed his head to the serpent deity, and looked toward Somnath with a smile, coming over to sit beside him. "Dying is never the solution to any trouble," he said. "If you lose your courage, how will you live? Don't trouble yourself like this — I already know everything. What is troubling you? Come to me every day — it will ease the burden on your heart, and I will have your company too." From then on, Somnath would go there every evening and lighten the weight on his mind. That man began teaching him the knowledge of mantra and tantra, having him sit beside him and perform sadhana. Six months passed, and Somnath's household situation slowly began to change too.
One day, the elderly man suddenly said, "There is a secret I have never told anyone — if you give me your word, I will tell you." Somnath had come to regard him as his Guru, so he gave his word that he would never speak of it to anyone while the man was alive. The elderly man then sighed and said, "Son, for 30 years I have served Baba Icchadhari, who dwells in this mound in the form of a serpent. Pleased with my service, he granted me his jewel (mani). Everything I have today is given by him. It is through his grace that I can glimpse into the womb of time. So give me your word that after I am gone, you will continue this service here." Somnath nodded in agreement, and the elderly man continued, "Listen carefully to one more thing — 8 days from today, I will die. Take this jewel, and when they lay me upon the funeral pyre and are about to set me alight, somehow place this jewel into my hand — through this, I will come back to life." Somnath took the serpent-jewel and went home, and exactly 8 days later, the elderly man, who was from his own village, passed away. When they reached the cremation ground, at the moment of the final farewell, Somnath said he wished to see the man's face, and while quietly looking upon him, he secretly placed the jewel into his hand — and the moment it touched him, the elderly man came back to life. Everyone was astonished and began rejoicing with great happiness. Everyone returned to their homes. After this, the elderly man lived on for another 3 years.
When we met Somnath, he was living a successful life, and even today lives in a village near Nawanshahr. He lives a life of royal prosperity, with a good business and a fine home. When we asked him about the jewel, he said nothing about it and said, "Don't ask about that," but his life had truly transformed, and even today he continues to serve in Icchadhari sadhana at that very place outside the village, receiving precise knowledge of the past and future. I believe he still possesses the serpent-jewel even today, but in this greed-filled society, it is better to keep such matters hidden, because whoever displays an accomplishment after attaining it does not keep it for long.
Somnath is our friend. I once mentioned this to my Ustad (teacher), who explained the secret of Icchadhari sadhana to me, revealing its hidden aspects, and under his guidance, I performed this sadhana, which brought very good and wondrous experiences. Just a few days into performing this sadhana, one begins to feel as though serpents have come to sit all around, protecting you.
I would go every day to perform this sadhana at the serpent deity's shrine outside my village, and one day, while performing the sadhana, I became so absorbed in meditation that my subtle body separated from my physical body and entered that very mound, where the Serpent Mother and Baba ji were both seated before me. They blessed me and gestured to one side, where a path seemed to form leading downward, and with their permission, I entered that narrow, tunnel-like passage, and after a short time, I found myself in a palace, where a throne stood to one side, and it felt as though I had entered a royal court, with the Serpent King (Nagraj) seated upon the throne in human form, surrounded by his courtiers on all sides. I bowed my head in salutation, and was gestured to sit to one side, which I did. I was then told that I was in Naag Lok (the serpent realm), and many things happened there that would not be appropriate to share here, but the splendour of Naag Lok is beyond comparison, and this one sadhana introduced me to such secrets that are beyond imagining, forming a connection between myself and Naag Lok. This is a rare sadhana. Only fearless seekers should perform it, because its experiences are direct, and many seekers become frightened upon seeing the serpent. Method of Sadhana
Before performing this sadhana, certain rules should be adopted.
1. Take a resolve (sankalp) to never kill a serpent — that I will never cause harm to serpents.
2. Ganesh worship, Guru worship, and Shiva worship are mandatory.
3. Speak the truth as much as possible.
Now, first find a place with an Icchadhari temple or a serpent's mound. Such a place exists somewhere in every city, or find a serpent's mound that hasn't been worshipped before, or, better still, find an established mound — meaning one that is very old and where people regularly pour milk.
The materials you need to bring are a small vessel of milk, flowers (white ones are better — you may use bud flowers or jasmine, or whatever is available), and be sure to bring batashe (sugar discs) as well.
Wear white clothing, and any aasan (seat) will do, except black. First clean the area around the mound, spread your seat, and place all your materials there.
Perform Guru worship and Ganesh worship, then Shiva worship, and seek permission. Then perform the worship at the mound, remembering the serpent deity and offering flowers, lighting an incense stick, and offering batashe, then sit and begin the mantra chanting. Light a ghee lamp, and make sure it remains burning throughout the sadhana. It is better if you also chant a mantra for your seat (aasan), or you may also draw a protective binding (keelan) around your seat.
Chant this mantra for 11 rounds of the mala. The mantra is somewhat long and may take 3 hours. If you cannot manage 11 rounds, do 5 or 3 instead. Perform this for 41 days, and whatever fixed count you chant daily should continue for the full 41 days. At the end, be sure to offer kheer or batashe as bhog. Once the mantra chanting is complete, offer your respects, pour the milk into the mound, and return home. Never perform this at home. — Nagendra
Experience
The experiences of this sadhana are direct. You will see many serpents, and sometimes they will sit close around you. Do not be afraid — none of them will harm you. Once the chanting is complete, they will leave on their own. Sometimes a Naag Kanya (serpent maiden) may appear too, so maintain composure and do not speak until your sadhana is complete. At the end, a very large, golden-coloured serpent will emerge from the mound before you — do not be afraid, hold your courage. Whatever it does, even if it opens its mouth to try and frighten you, do not rise from your seat or flee, or the sadhana will be disrupted, and your mind will be shaken with fear — your body will tremble, serpents will appear to you everywhere, and you will fall into a semi-unconscious state, with people thinking you have gone mad. This is why great attention and caution are necessary. Once your chanting is complete, that serpent will manifest in the form of a saint and speak with you, and you may ask for any boon you wish.
Once this happens, help from Naag Lok will begin to reach you, and your life will become filled with wealth and grain. Many times you will receive lottery numbers, or information about gambling or the stock market. You can use these opportunities wisely to make your life prosperous. Through this, many kinds of accomplishments are attained — such as receiving any information about someone, hearing a voice in your ear, an increase in facial charm, and especially, your eyes will change, gaining a special brightness. Many more secrets will be revealed to you, and if your sadhana has been performed with sincere devotion, you may even behold Naag Lok directly, or be able to travel there. So set aside all fear from your mind, prepare yourself for the sadhana, and perform it with complete faith.
